the English Language Classroom For a number of years
now there has been renewed interest in the affective domain and the
emotional factors which influence language learning. Today there is no
doubt that the language learning experience is much more effective when
both affect and cognition are considered.In this talk we will be drawing
on some theoretical knowledge about improving language teaching and
learning through a greater awareness of the role affect plays and its
beneficial effects on classroom management.The central idea in this talk
is to view some important issues in language learning such as: memory,
anxiety, self-esteem, facilitation, autonomy, classroom activities and
assessment from the perspective of affect.Examples will be taken from Inside

Prof. Gabriel Mohr Gabriel Mohr is a
graduate teacher from Instituto Superior del Profesorado “Dr. Joaquin
V. González” and has over 12 years’ experience teaching EFL. He has
taught general English to pre-adolescents and adults at prestigious
language schools and in-company Business English courses in Buenos
Aires. Gabriel has been lecturing on EFL methodology all over Argentina
and abroad for the last five years. He is an examiner for a well-known

Prof.Patricia Salvador Patricia Salvador is a graduate from Instituto de Enseñanza Superior en
Lenguas Vivas “Juan R. Fernández”. She
specialized in Didactics at Universidad Tecnológica Nacional where she
has been a full member of the ELT Pedagogy Group since 2001. She
was the chief editor of "English
Teaching in Action" -a magazine for teachers of English - and
of " Top English" - a movie-based series, and co-editor
