Omar
Villarreal is a University
Lecturer in the area of Applied Linguistics. He is Coordinator of
the ELT Pedagogy Area at INSPT of Universidad Tecnológica
Nacional where he is also Coordinator of the Licenciatura en Lengua
Inglesa.
He is also
Head of the English Department at Instituto Superior de Formación
Docente Nro 41- Adrogué.
He graduated
as a Profesor en Inglés e Inglés Técnico at
Instituto Nacional Superior del Profesorado Técnico. He is
also a Licenciado en Ciencias de la Educación from Universidad
Católica de La Plata ( Summa Cum Laude) and Licenciado en
Tecnología Educativa from Facultad Regional Avellaneda -
Universidad Tecnológica Nacional (Summa Cum Laude).
His post-graduate
studies include courses in Educational Research (M.A. in Educational
Research) at Universidad Nacional de Córdoba and in Applied
Linguistics at Carrera Cuaternaria del Instituto Nacional Superior
del Profesorado en Lenguas Vivas.
Omar has finished
the second year of his Doctorate in Modern Languages at Universidad
del Salvador and is also a candidate to the Maestría en Gestión
del Conocimiento at Universidad de León, España.
Omar has taught
English at all levels : Kindergarten through University for 33 years
now. He was a Secondary School Head for more than 10 years. He was
also Head of the School of English at Universidad Austral and Principal
of Instituto Superior del Profesorado Modelo.
He was the
Project-Director and co-author of a series of books and allied material
for the last three years of Secondary School : "POLIMODAL ENGLISH"
published by Macmillan Heinemann. He is also the author of "GRAMMAR
EXPLORER" published by Macmillan Publishers and a number of
other books, papers and articles in his field of specialization.
In 2003 Macmillan
Publishers published his latest series "TOP TEENS" which
he co-authored with Marina. The three-book series is aimed at teens
and pre-teens 11 +
He has lectured
extensively in all Argentinian provinces as well as in Uruguay,
Paraguay, Chile and Perú.
He was the
President of the Organizing Committee of the Seventh and Ninth National
Congress of Teachers and Students of English and chaired its Academic
Committee in 2000, 2003,2005 and 2006. |
