A Word from the Editor

Today SHARE Magazine celebrates its 20th birthday. It seems incredible, even to us, To have reached our twentieth year of uninterrupted publication, the only ELT e-magazine to have attained such a goal. What started on 31st October, 1999 as a small “page” with fewer than 50 readers has grown into a strong e-magazine with a readership of almost 22,000 subscribers and has remained faithful to its founding spirit: it carries no paid publicity of any sort nor is it supported by any governmental agency, national or transnational. On our birthday we want to express our gratitude to the handful of friends who in those early days gave us their support and encouragement: to Elida Messina, our fairy godmother, who always believed in us, to Bernardo Banegas who generously helped us with the technological side of the embryonic SHARE, to the late Carlitos Valle, our first graphic designer and to the anonymous gentleman from Chatsworth, England who presented us with what was to become SHARE`s logo. Today, SHARE is much more than this e-magazine that you are about to read. It has become one of the leading educational institutions in our field in our country, and, most importantly, I do not need to make this clear to you. Most teachers in Argentina know SHARE and acknowledge our efforts to offer a quality option for professional growth .Day after day, we receive countless public messages from our colleagues through the social media, namely Facebook, where we are growing steadfastly stronger. Sometimes (and following what seems to be the popular trend nowadays) just a few lines or even an emoji express the satisfaction of our colleagues with our consistent policy of offering a solid academic programme at a very reasonable price or for free, like is the case with this humble magazine or our SHARE Community Talks With your support SHARE will keep on growing and developing new instances of teacher development like SHARE TO LEAD, our highly rewarding Convention for Directors and Administrators of English and our SHARE THE MAGIC, our Congress for Teachers of Children with 4 editions that have met with astounding success. Once again, we feel we ought to say THANKS A MILLION to you for your unfaltering support which has made many of our dreams come true and encourages us to keep on dreaming. A big hug from the heart Omar, Marina, Martin and Sebas Villarreal 31st October 2018
