A Word from the Editor

Our Conference “The Magic of Teaching Children” last February 25th was a great success, not only because of the large audience that assembled, but because of many of you who spontaneously approached us to congratulate us or our speakers and staff.

Once again, in this loving relationship that we started with you 18 years back, it is our turn to say thank you for your support and your company. Expressing gratitude is not just a question of good manners or courtesy, in our case, it is the renewal of an unwritten contract which has got the force of a thousand stamps and seals and is more powerful than the highest court on earth. It is our commitment to offer you only the very best with professionalism and due respect for your (and by the way, our) teaching vocation. This, which might seem obvious for anyone who dares convene a group of teachers to offer some sort of training or other is not always the rule. Very often we find it hard to choose the right adjective to describe the speakers in our conventions or congresses. Could you imagine a medical convention announcing that “brilliant” speakers would be in charge of delivering “amazing” or “incredible” presentations? Or a Convention of biochemists being addressed by speakers without a degree (even if their diplomas are “just round the corner”) or who have never set foot in a real laboratory? We could now use the adjective “incredible” in its own right for a situation like this! Yet this is something that will never happen at SHARE. This was our commitment from the very start and it will remain like this for the many more years to come. These coming years we will double our efforts to keep on dignifying our teaching profession and the quality of the professional development instances that we offer to you.

We are happy because we are sure that you understand and value our efforts and that, year after year, you remain faithful to our proposals, for all this a big THANK YOU to all of you, dear friends!
