A Word from the Editor

It is hard to be original when it comes to expressing our feelings of gratitude to all of you on occasion of the celebration of a new special date of the very many we have had in this long-lasting friendship which last October turned 18 years old. Today we celebrate our issue number 300 and a barrage of common place phrases to express our indebtedness to you flood our minds and make it even harder to try to sound innovative. Seldom do we publish here or in our Facebook profiles, photographs of our good old days because we have always believed that the past can be a great teacher (one that affords wisdom through your own direct experience) but can never be a crucial travel companion for the ever changing roads ahead. As we thought of a cover for this issue, we went through the covers of past SHARE issues. Nostalgia soon rushed to our minds and as bright picture after bright picture flashed on our computer screen, memories of past times threatened to settle in and win the day. This, we thought, would be a flagrant contradiction to what has always been the animating spirit of SHARE: a constant projection to the future with solid roots on a well-earned reputation, but never clumsily relying on the past glories. With so many roads to go and grandeur to conquer in the future, that would be a waste. The conviction that we will go that road together makes us very happy. We count on you as much as you know you can count on us. For many more issues of SHARE! For many more reasons to celebrate! Cheers!
