The “Light, Sound and Music in the ELT Classroom” Seminar
at a Glance

This SHARE Seminar has been conceived of as a workshop where different practical
applications to English Language Teaching could be discussed by some of the most
prominent exponents of our profession in Argentina.

All 5 presentations will focus on the use of MUSIC and VIDEO in ELT and will afford
direct demonstrations of strategies, techniques, examples, procedures and methods
for concrete classroom practice as well as the sharing of successful experiences and
proposals for innovative classroom practice in the area.

Rather than describing or discussing, the presentations will show techniques and
practical activities that can be put to use in the EFL/ESL context.
Normally the presenter's statement of the theory underlying the techniques and
activities will take not more than ten minutes.
The rest of the time will be used for showing, rather than telling.

All 5 presentations will be plenaries of a purely academic nature. There will not be
any commercial presentations in this Seminar.

The Executive Committee has allocated the presentations in such a way as to offer
the Seminar participants a rich mix of both music and video applications.
The official language of the Seminar is English

All plenaries will be 60 minutes long and will be held in the “Brasil”
lecture hall with seating capacity of 350 participants.

A theatre play (an free version of William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet”)
with a very strong component of electronic and rock music will complete the
programme of the Seminar.
