Conflict Resolution
Establishing Common Ground

Most teachers are finding it harder and harder to manage groups and lessons. We are expected to deal with inattentiveness, bullying and so on. Evidently, nowadays, management means much more than variety, good rhythm and teacher’s presence. Although we may sometimes feel at a loss, the solution to discipline problems is in our hands!
What behaviour variables have changed?
Why?
What discipline problems are we likely to face?
How should we deal with them?
The purpose of this workshop is to establish some common ground with colleagues from different teaching realities, which will give them basic knowledge about and tools to deal with discipline problems and general conflict in the classroom.

Say it, Tell it, Sing it!

Every student has an anecdote to recall, a tale to remember, a story to tell, a song to sing. How can we, teachers, help them turn into words those images, memories, experiences and situations they live everyday since... ever?!
During this workshop we will talk about engaging activities and great original ideas that will be the springboard for our students to dramatize, retell, present, comment and create stories using songs, photographs, stories per se, movies and TV commercials that will push them to rise to the occasion and meet their own linguistic needs! After this workshop, for sure, you will have a story to tell!
